Ainsdale beach is a popular
attraction, with its broad sands. There is parking on a portion
of the beach accessed from Shore Road.
The parking has
been in a restricted area since 1993 to encourage larger numbers
of shore birds to the sands.
The foreshore is
considered an important area for shore birds and is designated a
Special Protection Area under the European Council Directive on
the conservation of Wild Birds.
The beach is one of the
few beaches in the North West (along with Southport and Birkdale)
to win awards for its upkeep and cleanliness.
